The Internet has been around for a generation, but its economic potential is still only just being realised. Networking services choke traditional businesses

Finding the right person to do a job used to be a major issue. Though their purpose is relatively simple, these types of services can be endlessly adapted and specialised for different specific niches. By making it easier for freelancers and private contractors to reach potential clients, they challenge the established brands that relied on their brand’s visibility to draw new customers.

For example, Uber and other ridesharing apps are challenging taxi industries around the world, without owning a single vehicle. They’re not a taxi company, but just a mobile app designed to allow quick and secure short-term business arrangements with independent drivers. Similarly, a service like Upwork functions like a more general global labour marketplace. By allowing clients to access individual professionals, they replace the traditional middle men that stood between the two: The larger business that would have employed that professional and attracted the client in the past.

E-commerce is replacing brick and mortar

E-commerce giants like Amazon, Ebay, and later Alibaba effectively brought e-commerce to the general public. One of their major selling points was that they allowed users to purchase a wide variety of products without submitting their personal information and credit card numbers to many potentially disreputable businesses. They rapidly took on an enormous share of online sales, but that was only the beginning of the story. Despite the size of these businesses, they only make up a relatively small portion of global retail sales.

These giants allow producers to sell their products on a more global scale, but they aren’t a complete answer to traditional brick and mortar retail stores. Someone looking for specific advice on a product, or a more personal purchasing experience in general, wouldn’t be well served with an online retail giant. Small merchants still have an important niche to fill. With the maturing safety of, and increased public trust in, online payment options like PayPal and Google Wallet they can do so online

Smaller e-commerce enterprises are increasingly springing up to fill the gap, and make up over 50% of all online sales today. These are often run by producers themselves, or by more specialised online merchants that aggregate selections from a variety of producers. Incidentally, these smaller merchants effectively echo the service experience offered by traditional stores, while operating with a much more efficient business model.

While most of the world’s business still isn’t done online today, it’s important to realise that the real impact that the web is having on the world’s economy is only starting to be felt now. As labour markets, SMEs, and end consumers realise the potential that the Internet offers them in terms of finding each other, they continue to power the feedback loop that has allowed it to grow so rapidly in the last decade.

    What is spam?

    The e-Marketing systems Fifo Capital uses for electronic communication allow recipients the option to automatically unsubscribe from any electronic commercial message.

If the recipient chooses to exercise that right they will be removed from any further marketing communication from Fifo Capital.   • Terms and Conditions

    Fifo Capital understands time is critical when it comes to managing your cash flow – so our process is aimed to be as simple as possible.
    A Fifo Capital facility approval typically takes around 24 hours to set-up and depending on the required information supplied by customers, transfer of funds can take place in as little as four hours.

    The following covers the terms and conditions required for a four hour funds transfer to take place;

    1. Fifo Capital will tell the proposed client if the application is successful to receive funding. We can accept or reject the application at our sole and absolute discretion. If we accept the application the cash flow finance services will be provided solely in accordance with the documents we agree with the proposed client.
    2. Fifo Capital reserves the right to reject previously approved applications without notice and/or consultation.
    3. Fifo Capital’s application consists of a number of forms, however, not limited to fully completed and signed; Application, Receivables Finance Facility Terms and Conditions, Guarantee, Offer to Sell, and Privacy Consent forms
    4. To be eligible for a four hour funds transfer in relation to an approved application, the proposed customer must request or apply to Fifo Capital in writing before 12noon on the same business day. Such a request doesn’t guarantee the transfer will take place or funds cleared in the customer’s bank account within the four hour period.
    5. Should a four hour funding transfer request be approved, such a transfer can only be facilitated on a business day. A transfer request is not available on public or bank holidays, or weekends.
    6. Four hour funding transfers may incur a fee as detailed within the application.
    7. Fifo Capital’s aligned banks or financial institutions have the right to reject a four hour funding transfer request. Fifo Capital and its aligned banks are not liable for any loss or damages resulting from a funding transfer request not taking place or funds being cleared within a four hour period.
    8. Fifo Capital is a franchise business operation. Fifo Capital UK Ltd is the master franchisee and is therefore not responsible for the actions or inactions of its franchisees in relation to any funds transfer timing.
    9. Fifo Capital is not responsible for any loss or damages incurred or to be incurred by the would be or existing customer should a transfer not take place within or cleared funds not be received within a four hour period.
